Travel Diary :: See, Taste and Do at and around the Fraser Suites Sydney

This is my second visit to the Fraser Suites Sydney and this time it was in collaboration with Regent Place Sydney to showcase their food offerings for Chinese New Year 2018. Rest assured there are no shortage of places to ‘Taste’ if you are staying at the Fraser Suites Sydney for the weekend and your problem will be the choices you have to make from the vast array of offerings, and with Fraser Suites Sydney being located in the heart of the all the action in Sydney CBD, there will be no problem in finding things to ‘See and ‘Do’ too. First world problem.

Despite the fact you can venture off to say the Queen Victoria Building, World Square or Pitt Street Mall if you wanted to do some shopping to freshen up your wardrobe, wander down Darling Harbour to see what events are on down there (there was Dragon Boat racing because of Chinese New Year and my brother’s team won the race!), catch the latest flicks at the cinemas nearby or catch the train from Town Hall to Circular Quay to look at the harbour, I stayed put and just enjoyed my suite, its view and its surroundings. There was a Chinese New Year event the time I stayed so I was happy to experience what was going on there. You can catch the action on my Instastories profile if you missed it ... it was so much fun giving the Lion a lucky money red packet.

We tasted an array of food offerings from Regent Place Sydney which there is a short cut and accessible from Level 10 of the Fraser Suites. Personally I love Japanese food so was drawn to Yebisu and Sushirap.

Food we tried at Regent Place Sydney include:
  • Coco Tea who offered bubble tea (@cocotea.tw)
  • Chefs Gallery who offered map tofu hotdogs and emoji buns (@chefsgallery)
  • Yebisu who offered yakitori and salmon belly skewers (@izakaya_yebisu)
  • Sushirap who offered an assorted sushi platter (@sushirapsydney)
  • Assembly bar for wood fire pizza and appetisers (@assembly_bar)
Other offerings include soft serve ice creams at Aqua S (@aqas_au). I received a really cool gift box that my husband said was one of the coolest PR related giftboxes I’ve received with some useful gadgets from @mooii_sydney and a Thai massage voucher from @iamsiamthaimassage.

I’ve previously written about the Fraser Suites Sydney and here is a brief load down from my stay this time

Feel

The feel is Manhattan like, stylish modern city living. There are 201 apartments in the Fraser Suites and it has a modern, luxurious and sophisticated interior. My apartment included modern conveniences, such as a kitchenette, comfortable living areas and business facilities. I think the apartment would be ideal for either work or pleasure. There is also a nice signature fragrance you will notice in the apartment block.

Room

The one bedder is separate to the living space which is really good for privacy if you are there with someone else. Each room had loads of natural light and was extremely comfortable. The Queen bed was comfortable and clean spacious beds ensure you will have a good nights sleep. I also like how there is complimentary water just in case you get thirst in the middle of the night. You will get a beautiful view of the city throughout the day. Blue hour was my favourite part of the day.

Rates

One-bedroom suites start from A$280 per night and it’s fully serviced. This includes complimentary high speed internet access in the rooms. Ideal for business travellers, couples, long stay travellers and small families.

Location

As mentioned above, Fraser Suites is located at the heart of all the action in Sydney CBD, Town Hall side, and Regent Place Sydney right at your door step for food and drinks, QVB and Pitt Street Mall for shopping only a short stroll. Darling Harbour too. Close to public transport.

Bathroom

Lined with grey tile, contempo-chic bathroom provides Loccitane products. Shower only no bathtub. There was better water pressure during my stay this time.

Amenities

Fraser Suites has a small but clean fitness centre and a lap pool that has this window opening in the pool so you can look down at the restaurants at Regent Place when you swim. There is also a jacuzzi and sauna. There is onsite parking. Buffet breakfast served on Level 10 every morning and you can also order in-dining too.

Overall

I loved my stay at Fraser Suites Sydney and would have to say if I was coming to Sydney I would chose this stay here over other accommodation options because of the amenities and spaciousness of the clean and modern apartments, the nice fragrance in the Fraser Suites, friendly service, reasonable price, complimentary high speed internet access and car parking below and definitely its location to so many restaurants and Sydney’s shopping hubs.
